About Norrtälje Museum
Norrtälje Museum: meet Norrtälje municipality’s cultural heritage - past, present and future.
Norrtälje Museum is a municipal museum specializing in ethnology, pedagogy and cultural heritage. The local area is the museum’s focus, but it also glances out towards the wider world. The municipality has an active cultural life and oral traditions, with many non-profit cultural associations. We have many local museums, and the largest number of active local heritage associations in Stockholm county.
At present the museum does not have any collections of its own. Instead, our focus is the presentation of contemporary events in the municipality through photographs, meetings and texts. If nothing is documented, no history would be preserved for future residents of Norrtälje.

About the Building
The new museum building at the foot of Södra bergen in central Norrtälje was inaugurated on January 17th, 2015. Norrtälje Museum and Norrtälje Art Gallery are housed in the building, which is connected to Pythagoras Industry Museum.
The new establishment’s location creates collaboration between these three museums. There is an elevator in the building by which you can easily continue up Södra bergen towards Pythagoras Industry Museum and more.
